JEREMY RENNER CAST AS HAWKEYE IN CAPTAIN AMERICA 2: THE WINTER SOLDIER!

News from Comic-Con 2012 (various sources; I’m paraphrasing):

Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier (April 4, 2013) will prominently feature SHIELD, which of course includes Nick Fury, Agent Maria Hill, Natasha Romanoff, and Clint Barton.

The story will be about Steve Rogers’ best friend Bucky, and how he was brainwashed to be a weaponized soldier, which led Steve (as Cap) to save him from his captors and himself. It’s based on the “Winter Soldier” timeline from the comics (The Winter Soldier is the name Bucky gets when he becomes evil, basically). So, since Captain America 2 is going to be set in modern times (coming off of The Avengers, it has to be, but anyway), Cap will be aided by SHIELD on his mission… along with Black Widow and Hawkeye.

I had like 10 sources to make up the bulk of this post, sorry I couldn’t list them after all! That’s the basic gist of everything, though.

So… I know it’s Captain America’s movie and all, but… I just can’t wait to see more Hawkeye and Black Widow!!! >u<
